Concepts

Taikon lets you talk to AI agents that can do real work: read and write files, create documents, search the web, and reach into connected drives like Google Drive and OneDrive. An agent is not a chatbot that only answers questions. It plans a sequence of actions, asks for the tools it needs, and reports back what it did.

Every action an agent takes is checked against permissions your organization has set, at the moment the action happens. If your account or group has not been granted a tool, the agent cannot use it on your behalf, no matter what you ask for. Some actions run right away once that check passes. Riskier ones, destructive changes or actions outside your usual pattern, pause and ask you, or an administrator, to approve them first. Every decision, allowed or denied, is written to an audit trail your organization’s administrators can review.

This section explains what these pieces are: agents and how they handle tasks, the skills and tools an agent can use, workflows that turn a proven sequence of steps into something reusable, your personal workspace and files, connections to outside services, delegating tasks to teammates, and how governance and audit work behind the scenes.

If you use Taikon to get work done, chatting with an agent, running workflows, managing your files, read the concept pages here first, then the User Guide for the screen-by-screen detail.

If you administer Taikon for your organization, managing who can use which tools, setting spend limits, reviewing the audit trail, the concepts still apply, and the Administrator Guide covers every admin screen and setting.
